費(fèi)城藝術(shù)大學(xué)(The University of The Arts)建于1985年，是全美最古老并致力于藝術(shù)教育的學(xué)校，1985年由費(fèi)城表演藝術(shù)學(xué)院和費(fèi)城藝術(shù)學(xué)院合并而成，這兩所學(xué)校的歷史都可以追溯到19世紀(jì)70年代。校園位于賓夕法尼亞州中心城市費(fèi)城的藝術(shù)大道，主要分為三個學(xué)院：藝術(shù)與設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)院、表演藝術(shù)學(xué)院、媒體和傳播學(xué)院。1983年，該學(xué)校建立了一個劇院，成為首個在賓夕法尼亞州以提供全面的專業(yè)音樂、舞蹈和戲劇的機(jī)構(gòu)。 合并后，增添了媒體與傳播學(xué)院。目前在校學(xué)生約有2100名，500多名教職員工，學(xué)校為社會培養(yǎng)了大批的音樂人士、畫家、教育家和設(shè)計(jì)師。
費(fèi)城藝術(shù)大學(xué)是所老牌的藝術(shù)大學(xué)，且包含視覺藝術(shù)和音樂表演兩大門類。雖然學(xué)校的英文名字直譯為藝術(shù)大學(xué)，通常以其所在地費(fèi)城特指。費(fèi)城藝術(shù)大學(xué)提供各種藝術(shù)、設(shè)計(jì)、影視和音樂、表演類專業(yè)，其音樂、表演專業(yè)名聲頗高。特色專業(yè)包括爵士樂研究、博物館研究。費(fèi)城本身也是美國的大型城市之一，在文化和藝術(shù)方面擁有特殊的地位。費(fèi)城藝術(shù)大學(xué)的學(xué)生只需要2個小時即可乘坐大巴前往紐約參觀美術(shù)館和參加藝術(shù)活動，而城的生活成本卻低于紐約。

二、申請要求
1. Transcript/Grade Sheets All International applicants must provide a complete, notarized transcript from every school attended Ｏn the high school /secondary and post-secondary level (Please see "Transfer of Credit" above for foreign university transcripts). Transcripts are official documents that must be signed by the authority in each school you have attended.
2. English Language Requirements International students whose native language is not English must submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A TOEFL score of 550 paper-based/ 80 internet-based or an IELTS score of 6.0 and above is required for unconditional admission.(for Graduate：TOEFL score of 92 (iBT) or 580 (PBT) or higher, an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher)
3. Certificate of Finance The University requires that all international applicants submit proof of sufficient available funds to cover all of your educational and personal expenses while studying at The University of the Arts. All applicants intending to seek or hold an F-1 visa must complete the Certificate of Finance, Affidavit of Support, and provide a current bank statement. The Certificate of Finance form must be completed in English and notarized by your bank official. This statement must declare the availability of U.S. $55,327.00 (2013-2014) to cover the costs of Ｏne year of education and personal expenses. The I-20 form cannot be issued without a valid Certificate of Finance.
4. Letter of Recommendation You are required to submit at least Ｏne letter of recommendation from an instructor with whom you have worked in an artistic capacity. Letters written in languages other than English must be translated by a certified translator. Both the original and the certified translation must be included in the application.
5. Portfolio and Audition Requirements International students must satisfy the same portfolio and audition requirements as all other applicants. The University of the Arts seeks students who demonstrate talent and potential in their chosen creative discipline. Therefore, all programs require a portfolio, writing sample, audition and/or interview as part of the application for admission. These evaluations are used to determine acceptance into a program of study, as well as eligibility for merit-based scholarships.
